This web site discusses and provides a search box for searching the Web and Internet for information.
The Google Search Box is used, herein, to accomplish web searches. The Google Search Engine is considered the largest on the web but other search engines - Yahoo, MSN - are also powerful and can perform very thorough searches.
Internet. The Internet is a network of millions of computers around the world which communicate with each other and share information.
Web (World Wide Web or WWW). The Web is part of the Internet. The web is made up of billions of pages of information, e.g., text, graphics, etc. with the pages being connected (linked) to each other. Most information that a on-line searcher finds is contained in the multiple pages of the web.
Search (Web Search). To look for something on the web. Generally, this involves typing a search term into a search box which accepts the search term, hitting the "enter" key or clicking the search button which accompanies the search box. The applicable search engine responds to the search request by providing a "results page" which is a list of web sites related to the search term.
Search Engines. Search engines use automated software - a "spider" - which 'crawls" the web, site byy ssite, and catalogs information (list of web sites) found about search terms typed into the search box. Google is the largest search engine but other search engines also do a good job at search..

As noted above, the search boxes provided can be used to search for any subject. Below is a list of links to well-known search and information web sites on the Web. One can visit the specific pages listed by clicking on the links. Clicking the links saves a little time over typing the search term into the search box.
